Eduardo Fernandez De Blas, the Vice-President of Real Madrid, might just have confirmed the club’s intention of bringing former Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez to the club thanks to a comment that he made recently while addressing the press.
Real Madrid, who confirmed through its president that coach Carlo Ancelotti won’t be returning, are expected to announce Rafael Benitez as their new coach. Benitez went on further to prove analysts right by officially indicating that he has had his last game with Napoli over the weekend.
While speaking at a club event that was hosted on Saturday, Real Madrid’s vice-president indicated that the club is looking at signing the ex-Napoli manager in his statement. In the same statement, he also went ahead and praised the outgoing coach Carlo Ancelotti, who has stated that he will be taking a year off from his coaching duties.
Here is what De Blas said regarding Ancelotti leaving and about Rafael Benitez;
“I’ll tell you one thing, Carlo Ancelotti is a real phenomenon,” the AS, a Spanish newspaper reported. “We give our thanks to him. Until three days ago, he was, for me, the best coach in the world, just as two years ago it was José Mourinho, and as from this week will be Rafa Benítez.”
When it comes to coaching, Rafael Benitez has a good record especially is situations whereby he has been allowed to exercise his muscles on the transfer window something which was evident when he coached Liverpool, guiding them to a Champions League win against AC Milan.
