Yo yo! Check it Out!

A pathetic and outdated activity? (Sorry, I just can’t come to grips with calling it a sport.) Yes. Oh, I remember busting some moves at lunch with my Bumble Bee. Then I closed the yearbook – the middle school one.

Even so, this dude is phenomenal, and I’d still rather watch this competition than any the following:
- A golf tournament not involving Tiger Woods.
- A tennis match not including Maria Sharapova.
- Any men’s beach volleyball competition.
- A Jonathan Papelbon save attempt – what a tool.
- Anything with Tim McCarver.

Ray Lewis Still Kills People

It’s been over 10 years since Ray Lewis was arrested on murder charges (which were later dropped), but jeez can the man still bring the pain. And legally here, might I add.

Poor, poor Dustin Keller. I hope Mark Sanchez at least bought him a Rolex for putting him in the ring on that one.

The Goal He Never Even Saw

The saying “always keep your eye on the ball” isn’t just reserved for the baseball – this is probably the most oblivious goalie I’ve ever seen. Only problem: looks like there was literally no one in the stands to see it.

Heisman Trophy Emotional, Seeks Divorce from Bush

First we hear Reggie Bush‘s 2005 Heisman Trophy will be stripped from him, according to Yahoo! Sports…

The Heisman Trophy Trust is expected to strip former University of Southern California star running back Reggie Bush of college football’s top honor by the end of September, sources told Yahoo! Sports….Bush would become the first player in the 75-year history of the award to have the trophy taken away.

Now we’re hearing the ‘Trust’ has said none of the such, according to the – much more reputable, apologies Yahoo! – Associated Press…

“I can tell you the Heisman Trophy Trust has made no decision regarding the Reggie Bush situation,” Robert Whalen, executive director of the Heisman Trophy Trust, told the AP on Tuesday.

Who’s to believe? My thought: most likely, Bush’s trophy will be taken back, but the committee has not yet made a final decision, hence Whalen’s comments. And if so, there are reports that the Heisman slot for 2005 will be eternally vacated. Tear.

Matt Leinart is Roadkill in Arizona

A Cardinal no more – former USC standout Matt Leinart was released today by Arizona after four years of underwhelming production.

But let’s clear one thing up: in no way should the guy be dumped in the same bracket as Ryan Leaf. Leinart wasn’t great, but wasn’t legendarily terrible. A better comparison: Jake Plummer in his Arizona years. And how did Plummer perform when he escaped the desert? How about three straight seasons of an 84.0+ passer rating.

And even if Leinart’s NFL career – now based in Houston, Texas – doesn’t pan out, he’s still got a fair chance at modeling cardigans.
